DTSTAMP:20261108T040134Z
DTSTART:20261213T180000Z

DESCRIPTION:Forest fires in Indonesia\, AI death cults in San Francisco\, j
et-powered drones\nhurtling autonomously into Kyiv\, brigades of young isr
eali men with slingshots\nattacking olive farmers in the West Bank\, the h
ighest U.S. military budget in\nhistory\, the largest hurricane ever recor
ded off the coast of Mexico\, tent city\nconcentration camps all across th
	e Unite States\, unprecedented flooding in\nChile\, increasing femicides h
ere in Montreal. This world feels so sick and I\ndon't know about you but
	I feel insane and honestly\, I think that’s a sane\nresponse. And there is
only one antidote. Community engagement\, community\nactivism and communi
ty support. I'll be honest it won’t fix the bigger picture.\nBut it will m
ake a difference for your immediate feelings of paralysis and it\nwill mak
e a huge difference specifically in the lives of 8 people all of whom\nare
fighting for causes unrelated to anything I mentioned above. This world i
s\nsick in so many directions and we all need to step up to help ourselves
and help\none another.\n\nThis year for Amnesty Internationals 25th anniv
ersary of the annual\nWrite-for-Rights campaign I will be hosting a letter
writing event combined with\nan energetic live music show at Turbo Haus.
We will spend the afternoon writing\nletters to political activists in eig
ht different countries letting them know\nthat we see them\, we hear them
and we believe in their cause. I cannot overstate\nhow meaningful these le
tters are to people working tirelessly on the front lines\nto defend human
rights for all. This heads-down-but-social afternoon will be\nbroken up b
y 3 bands\, my own band You Enemy\, Sara Elbourne and "Dirty Milk". So\nbr
ing your wrists\, your minds and your ears and let's inspire one another t
	o\npush for a better future.
