"Jairus Sharif is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, improviser, composer and producer based in Mohkinstsis/Calgary. His work uses spontaneous improvisation and live composition to create music that deals with healing, self-understanding, and personal freedom, at the intersection of class and technology.

As an exploratory sound artist, Sharif has generated a stream of passionate and unclassifiable recordings that forge unprecedented connections between hip-hop abstraction, mysticism, and outsider jazz. His music offers a glimpse into an ongoing hermetic journey via soulful, contradictory statements that dwell beneath a blustery surface.

Sharif will be joined on stage by fellow sonic explorer, Mustafa Rafiq for an improvised performance navigating themes generated by the duo.
